Millennium Madejski Hotel Reading

Following the #GeekWedding near to Reading we needed a Hotel for the night. As the happy couple had managed to arrange a reduced rate for any of the party staying at the hotel we thought it made sense to stay at the Millennium Madejski Hotel Reading. For the price of £65/room per night we weren’t expecting what we got.

On arrival at reception, the welcome was lovely, warm and friendly and more than willing to help… even though we were checking in over two hours earlier than their official check in time. They gave us a room early, informed us that there was a Reading FC match on that day and the time of the 30 min road closures at the end of the match. Really helpful reception staff. The car park at the front and back of the hotel is a little small, however there is a large overflow car park across the road – we were lucky and managed to find a spot just outside the hotel.

The rooms were simple yet looked special, large bed, tea/coffee facilities, desk, table & chairs to relax on and a large bathroom. The room itself was spotlessly clean, as was the linen and towels. Getting ready to head to the wedding, we needed to iron Johns shirt as being stuck in the suitcase, it wasn’t looking its best, full size iron available and ironing board, in the room – winner 🙂 (Sad but true) Whilst coming to straighten my hair – oops forgot my UK adapter so a quick run to reception and I’m back on track.

Coming back into the hotel after the wedding at past midnight we were welcomed into the hotel bar, spectacular bar and reasonably priced drinks. The bar stayed open till 3am which was great 🙂

Breakfast – was included in the room rate, good variety and quality for a buffet, hotel and cold choices.

All in all, I’d happily stay at another Millennium Hotel – great value for money.
