  • 1 tsp vanilla essence (I used extract)
  • 200g self-raising flour, sifted
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 200g milk chocolate chips or milk chocolate cut into chips (I find this is a lot of choc – i also mix with fruit and other fun stuff)
  • 1 tbsp water
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F), gas mark 4.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
  3. Stir in the vanilla, flour, baking powder and chocolate chips, and add the water to make a dough.

  5. Bake for about 12 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Leave on the baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool.
  7. Store in an airtight tin for up to a week.
