Arosa

Well, I’m not very good with my own company… so a relaxing break on my own isn’t something I normally do overly well, but I was giving it a go.

I decided on Arosa and booked a night in a single room in the Hotel Seehof through Booking.com. I got the train to Arosa via Chur arriving in Arosa for around 11:00, on arrival I wandered down to the hotel in an attempt to check in early. The hotel is near the Untersee (the smaller of Arosas two main lakes), I get the hotel and the are more than happy to check me in early and provide me with my guest card for the next two days. Off from the hotel I head towards the main lift at the train station and get the bahn up the Arosa Weisshorn. After a quick bite to eat at the summit I head of hiking down to mid station, once I get to mid I stop for a refreshing Apricot Sorbet with prosecco then continue down to the bottom. The walk down was really relaxing and took the rest of the afternoon, I then headed to the Untersee and spent a good hour lay by the lake dipping my feet, the Untersee has bathing facilities if you want to use them.

After going back to the hotel to freshen up I went out for some food and ended up at Grottino for a pizza, after which I went for a walk around the Arosa Obersee to try and work off some of the pizza I’d just eaten. Then back to the hotel, so far so good for being away on my own.

Some photos can be found here.

Next day, the trek to Lenzerheide.
