Chalet Velo is a hidden treasure in Davos (well unless you’re a biker then its fairly well known), its a great place to have a snack and a drink mid tour and has a pump track and some features (like some rather large table tops) to hone your skills on…
I have a massive fear of northshore…. even wide northshore.. I just have it in my head that I’m going to wobble and fall off… Today I was brave! Chalet Velo has a skills area with some northshore to practice on… I didn’t fancy the seesaw or the the skinneys… so I just tried a basic bit of northshore, in between two trees with a kink in it…. nothing major but it was freaking me… first time i had one foot down going over it, but i didn’t die which was a major achievement… next time I rode onto it but cos of the tiny little lip up onto it, got spooked and carried on with one foot down… third time lucky… yay I rode on and round and down.. no issues… then I did it again.. what was I spending my time worrying about… Am i ready to tackle 3km long stretches – No.. but I’m now going to build on this and get over the stupid fear I have.
After doing the northshore we went for a drink at the Chalet Velo – however rather than a drink I went for a desert 🙂 I can highly recommend the Mango Sorbet and Prosecco 🙂 Yummy
