So, after a night in Arosa I decided to hike over to Lenzerheide. I made the decision to go via the Hornli express to get a lot of the height I would need to get over to Lenzerheide. I headed in the direction of the Lenzerheide Rothorn, which would then give me a few options, stop for lunch, get the lift down or walk down. On leaving the Hornli Express I started down for about 100m following the signs for Rothorn, continuing along a nice hiking path I then started up the path and reached the top of this section, which then provided great views over Lenzerheide and looking back towards where I had started from, from this point you then following a path towards the Rothorn, the trail is also a freeride biking trail so be aware of this. I did the route on a Friday and saw only two bikers and about 6 hikers, great for peace and tranquility. Finally my initial destination was in sight and I continued to Rothorn, all in all taking around 2 hours 20 mins to reach the Rothorn restuarant.
The route is available here.
After lunch in the restaurant I then decided to follow regional route 54 to Lenzerheide, however I went slightly wrong towards the end and followed a different trail into Lenzerheide, route can be found here. Once in Lenzerheide I got the post bus to Davos then John picked me up and we went back to Klosters.
I was very pleased with my days hiking, a really good trail that was quite challenging in places.
Pics can be found here.
